Custom CNC Floor Vents
Flush-mount floor vents manufactured from your actual floor material. Matched to your species, thickness, grain direction, stain color, and finish sheen. Slot patterns CNC-programmed to your exact opening dimensions. The only contractor in the Triangle making these.
A Detail That Changes Everything
No Other Contractor in the Triangle Makes These
Also called flush-mount floor registers, wood floor vent covers, or custom hardwood vent covers, these vents are built to blend into the floor instead of sitting on top of it.
Standard floor vents are stamped metal sitting on top of your floor. They catch dirt, interrupt the visual flow of the room, and make an otherwise beautiful floor look unfinished.
Our flush-mount vents are manufactured from engineered material matched to your floor species, thickness, and finish. They can be cut from the exact prefinished material used in your hardwood floor installation or LVP flooring installation. They sit level with the surrounding surface. From across the room, you cannot tell where the vent is.
We manufacture every vent in our Clayton shop using CNC equipment. LVP flush-mounts include a hidden steel support structure for structural integrity. It is a detail that separates a finished floor from a truly considered one. See examples in our project portfolio.
As a member of the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) since 2002, we hold every product we manufacture to the same exacting standards we apply to every floor we install.
CNC precision manufacturing.
Every vent is programmed to your exact opening dimensions and machined to those dimensions on CNC equipment. Consistent slot width, consistent slot depth, consistent edge profile. No variation between vents on the same job. The fit in the floor opening is clean on all four sides without gaps or shimming.
Hidden steel reinforcement (LVP flush-mounts).
LVP flush-mount vents use a steel support structure that slips under the LVP, invisible from the surface. This provides the structural strength to bear foot traffic without adding height or compromising the flush fit.
Hardwood and LVP variants.
All vents are manufactured from engineered material matched to your floor species, thickness, and finish. For hardwood floors, they can be cut from the exact prefinished material your floors are made of. The result is a vent that reads as part of the floor, not as an object placed on it.

The Difference
Standard Vents vs. Our Flush-Mount Vents
Standard Metal Vent
Stamped metal sitting on top of the floor
Visible gap around the perimeter
Collects dirt and debris in the grate
Generic finish that does not match your floor
Visible from any distance in the room
Trips up vacuum cleaners and furniture legs
Our CNC Flush-Mount Vent
Machined from your actual floor material
Sits flush with the surrounding floor surface
Precision slot pattern for clean airflow
Matches grain, color, and finish of your floor
Virtually invisible from a standing position
Built for full foot traffic in high-traffic areas
Installation
Flush-mount vent installation on unfinished hardwood. CNC-machined to exact opening dimensions, sits level with the surrounding floor surface.

How We Make Them
Matched to Your Floor at the Material Level
A flush-mount vent that does not match the surrounding floor is worse than a standard metal grate, because it draws attention to itself while pretending to blend in. The match has to be right at every level: species, thickness, grain direction, stain color, and finish sheen.
For floors we install, we manufacture the vents from the same lot of material as the floor itself. Same boards, same finish run, same stain batch. The grain reads as continuous because it is. For existing floors, including those recently refinished through our hardwood refinishing service, we source matching material and stain it in your home, in your lighting, until the match is confirmed before the vent is machined.
The slot pattern is programmed to your vent opening dimensions. The CNC router cuts each slot to consistent width and depth across the face of the vent. The pattern is designed to pass adequate airflow while leaving enough material between slots to carry foot traffic without flex. There is no standard template. Every vent is a one-off program written to your exact opening.
Species and grain direction.
Grain runs parallel to the surrounding boards. On diagonal or herringbone floors, we assess the dominant visual direction and orient the vent to match. A vent with cross-grain is immediately visible. One with matching grain disappears.
Thickness matching.
The vent is manufactured to the same finished thickness as your floor. Prefinished hardwood at 3/4 inch requires a 3/4 inch vent body. Engineered at 1/2 inch requires a 1/2 inch vent. The flush fit requires exact thickness, not approximate.
Stain and finish sheen.
Stain is applied and compared to the adjacent floor in your lighting conditions before the vent is finished. A matte floor requires a matte vent. A satin finish requires satin. The sheen mismatch is often the first thing that gives a vent away.
Steel support structure (LVP).
LVP vents use a steel frame that slides under the LVP around the opening perimeter. The frame is not visible from the surface. It carries the load so the LVP face of the vent does not deflect under foot traffic. The result is a fully walkable vent with no visible hardware.
Airflow verification.
After installation, we verify that the slot pattern is not obstructed and that airflow is adequate. We do not consider the job done until the vent is installed, flush, walking-tested, and confirmed to be passing air.

Pricing
How Much Do Custom Flush-Mount Floor Vents Cost?
Custom floor vent pricing depends on the floor material, number of vents, opening size, finish requirements, and whether the vents are part of a new floor installation or a standalone upgrade for an existing floor.
Pricing for vents installed and finished to match your flooring starts at $75 per vent. Because each vent is custom-machined to the exact opening and matched to the surrounding floor, we confirm final pricing after reviewing your material, dimensions, and project details.
Vents ordered as part of a new hardwood floor installation or LVP installation are typically less expensive than standalone orders, since we already have your floor material on hand and can machine the vents during the installation.

$75 per vent, installed and finished to match your flooring. Final pricing confirmed at assessment based on species, opening size, and project details.
New installation pricing.
Vents ordered alongside a new hardwood or LVP installation are typically less expensive, since floor material is already on site and matched to the job.
Standalone orders.
Existing floors require a site visit to confirm a material match is achievable. Pricing is quoted after that assessment.
No-charge replacement.
If a vent ever breaks, we manufacture and install a replacement at no charge. The warranty is simple: if it breaks, we fix it.

Flush-mount floor vents sit level with the surrounding floor surface rather than sitting on top of it. They eliminate the raised metal grate that standard vents use, creating a continuous floor surface without the visual interruption of a traditional vent cover.

LVP flush-mounts include a steel support structure for structural integrity. All vents are precision-cut to exact dimensions. Standard vents are stamped metal placed on top of the floor.

Yes. LVP flush-mount vents use a steel support structure that slips under the LVP for structural strength. Hardwood-matched vents are manufactured from engineered material of the same species and thickness, which provides inherent dimensional stability under foot traffic. Both are designed for long-term use in high-traffic areas.
